Is it illegal to text while driving in Pennsylvania?

Hi, I’m Erik Snyder, from Snyder Law Group. A lot of times clients ask me about texting while driving, and whether it’s legal, if they can be criminally charged?

The answer is yes, they can be criminally charged.

Not only can they be criminally charged, but in the civil realm if you cause injuries as a result of distracted driving like texting or playing Pokémon GO or another VR game, you could be held accountable for what are called punitive damages, which are damages meant to punish you for your extremely reckless behavior.

Keep your eyes on the road, drive safe and if you have any questions, give me a call 610-265-8050.
